SEO's and Competition

So I think the economy is pretty well toast, and what is funny is homeless people can afford to buy crack and booze but we can't afford anything. Well I have seen recently in the land of web development, seo, and internet marketing that some of the competition around my market is really heating up, in fact a company local to Wisconsin is literally copying facebook pages in order to try to pull views from other page owners. Pretty low is right. Those who would do things like that are not the ones you should be investing thousands of dollars on to trust your internet marketing budget to. I'd tell you their name but then my lawyer would be all over my ass. The best thing you can do to hire the right web marketing company is get references, and call them.

McCormick Web Marketing has references and we'd be happy to give them to anyone looking for a good web marketing company who is reasonable priced, and does the work they say that they will do.

Keep Search Simple, do it the right way first.

This will be a three part series about search engines, if you want to know more about them so that you can help your website get some traffic I will be providing information from reliable sources and the top SEO folks in the entire country, not to mention Google and Yahoo's webmaster resources and WEB CEO, the top software company for SEO.
We will be touching on the following industries:
  • Real Estate
  • E-commerce
  • Retail
  • Health Care
  • Manufacturing

Part 1: Understanding Search Engines

This step is an introduction into search engines. This information is valuable in helping SEOs understand how site rankings in one online directory or search engine can influence rankings in others around the web.
Simply put SE=Search Engine, ok?
Search engines are still very popular method for target customers to find you. As such, SEs are a vital avenue for letting customers find you. Currently, search engines around the world together receive around 1,000,000,000 searches per day. The searches are done with the help of keywords: as a rule, people type a short phrase consisting of two to five keywords to find what they are looking for, either services, information, help, or products.
A Chapter from Web Ceo University states... In response to this query, a search engine will pick from its huge database of Web pages those results it considers relevant for the Web surfer's terms, and display the list of these results to the surfer. The list may be very long and include several million results (remember that nowadays the number of pages on the Web reaches 2.1 trillion, i.e. 2,100,000,000,000); so the results are displayed in order of their relevancy and broken into many pages (most commonly 10 results per page). Most Web surfers rarely go further than the third page of results, unless they are considerably interested in a wide range of materials (e.g. for a scientific research). One reason for this is that they commonly find what they look for on those first pages without the needing to dive in any deeper. That's why a position among the first 30 results (or "top-30 listing") is a coveted goal.
There used to be a great variety of search engines, but now after major reshuffles and partnerships there are just several giant search monopolies that are most popular among Web surfers and which need to be targeted by optimizers, and social media masters.
Next time... Part 2 What is optimized content and how do I get some.

Bing Vs. Google | Search Engine Wars

Google has tricked Bing it appears into public admission about its theft of search engine results pages and ultimately its algorithm, which would really be amazing because this is the secret to Google's unique position as the world leader in search.

The trick is even more amazing.

It all started with tarsorrhaphy. Really? As it happens, tarsorrhaphy is a rare surgical procedure on eyelids. And in the summer of 2010, we were looking at the search results for an unusual misspelled query [torsorophy].

Blockquote text is from Google's official blog. Found Here.

Searching for words that only a hand full of people know in the entire world simplified Google's ability to prove with exact same search results as Bing.
Does it prove that Google has been compromised? Absolutely not. The use of feeds, RSS, and better .PHP and SQL programming would make it possible for Bing to get google serp pages, dress them up in its own uniform on Bing.com, completely re-serve them as it's own results. Fair Use could be argued in that respect, or maybe not. One thing is for sure, if Bing keeps displaying the exact same thing as what Google displays, there will be trouble and yet another online precedent will be set as a result.

The real deal... Ok, and my editorial starts now.
Google is number one, always was, always will be. Microsoft has long been known for it's talent for creating it's own niches and stealing from others from which it wants something from in the form of acquisition and patent rights violations. At the end of the day it may be cheaper to buy the entire thing, what ever it may be, than to play fair in an open market. The open market part didn't make much sense there because our open market is exactly what makes it legal and profitable at the same time. Kudos for Microsoft for being able to get around quickly, however what makes this so fun to watch is that in my humble opinion they have run into their most formidable enemy ever. Stay Tuned....

SEO companies are springing up like weeds

Seo firms are poping up like every other day

Isn't it nice to know that there is a way to see through the smoke and mirrors and find an honest and reputible company in Wisconsin. McCormick Web Marketing has been involved in search engine optimization since 1996 and has as much experience as anyone in the business, period. Starting off with freedom gifts.com and growing SEO and Marketing into real estate sites and then into manufacturing and now health care, the firm's owner Rudy McCormick has been around and completely understands the industry and it's issues.
"The overseas markets are driving up costs not down, because of all the fraud that is associated with some of the so called SEO firms."
While it is unfair to say that all of the SEO's in India, and Indonesia are corrupt, it is easy to see how widespread fraud can happen. It is true that you get what you pay for, and in marketing it is no different, except when fraudsters take you for a ride and steal your money, there is most likely no recourse... your screwed. You are not only screwed but you will then still have to pay a marketer all of the money it takes to compete in your market, so what really happens is it costs double what it should.
My advice is to interview several firms and find one that you can relate to, is on target when it comes to your brand, and can support the level of service you require.
Finding a company that works well and works for you is a bit of a process and will no doubt cost some money, however, doing a little work on the front end will most likely result in quality and an outcome which your company will profit from.

Impacts of Net-neutrality on Search Engine Marketi

Internet Rules and Search Engine Optimization

Internet Rules and Search Engine Optimization by rampdog

Possible effects of the new government regulations on SEO and Search.

Wikipedia states,
Network neutrality (also net neutrality, Internet neutrality) is a principle proposed for users' access to networks participating in the Internet. The principle advocates no restrictions by Internet service providers and governments on content, sites, platforms, the kinds of equipment that may be attached, and the modes of communication.[1][2][3]

The principle states that if a given user pays for a certain level of Internet access, and another user pays for the same level of access, then the two users should be able to connect to each other at the subscribed level of access.

SO" that being said what are the potential pitfalls for the average website owner in terms of search? Well the answer is that no one knows for sure, however if you think about a web where Google does everything possible to provide relevant search results for its users, then some websites can and will be judged by what level of hosting they can afford to purchase, thus turning the web into a biggest wallet wins playing field.

This is not the web I helped create, nor will it work. You see those hackers, you know the ones, who steal credit cards, and identities, and databases, they will continue to hack, this plus the US governments wishes to make everyone wear the equivalent of internet dog tags will not stop a single would be hacker. Why? Well that answer is quite simple really, they are better than you, better than the government, and that is how they get away with it today. Most hackers can code their way around anything todays government can create almost as fast as they create it, in fact hackers in Russia and China have been hacking US websites for years, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

The real net-neutrality has to do with lobby, government control, price fixing, and honestly being able to expand the value of bandwidth to the point of taxation. We all enjoy a great website, I will give you facebook as an example, so net-neutrality would allow providers to give different levels of bandwidth to different styles of usage, such as p2p, gaming, and chat clients. If you regulate bandwidth in such a way isn"t it going to limit what some people are willing to produce? This lack of development would essentially put a "CAP" on the quality of the internet.

If you have to pay twice as much for p2p bandwidth it may make it unfeasible to develop better technology because it could end up being cost prohibitive. If providers are allowed to control bandwidth on a tiered level of service, only those who can afford more pipe will meet Google"s demand for a fast website, essentially putting them on a less than level playing field.
